Since 2018, the train has been offering a very special highlight: the VR experience. The passenger sitting in the front has the opportunity to wear VR glasses and experience the bobsleigh ride as a flight through a virtual world. Whether over and through canyons in North America, Aztec temples in South America, Egyptian temples or the Great Wall of China - with the 360° all-round view, the VR experience offers a completely new dimension of driving fun.
The climbing garden at Mehliskopf
The Climbing garden at Mehliskopf offers climbing fun in the middle of nature on an area of three and a half hectares - that's 35 square meters. Here you can climb on ropes, platforms, narrow beams, nets, cable cars and liana-shaped ropes. The green tops of the trees are directly above your head and the ground can be up to 000 meters below your feet.
There is a great adventure playground next to the climbing garden. Here the little ones can practice their climbing skills and master various challenges such as the flying fox, climbing roots or the Tarzan bridge.
In the adventure climbing garden you can climb at heights of 3 to 14 meters. There are 7 different courses with different levels of difficulty, so there is something for everyone.
Black Forest Card you can spend 3 hours in the adventure climbing garden. Children aged 6 and over are allowed to climb, but those under 12 can only climb if accompanied by an adult.

The downhill carts offer a unique adventure for everyone who loves the thrill of speed and nature. Whether as an individual or in a group, fun and adrenaline are guaranteed here.
What are bull carts at Mehliskopf?
Bullcarts are special tricycles designed for rapid descents on steep slopes. Equipped with large, slanted tires, these carts offer good off-road mobility and ensure a safe driving experience. The bullcarts are accelerated by gravity, similar to a bobsleigh track. Disc brakes also ensure good deceleration.
Off to the starting point
The bullcarts are transported uphill using a double-bar ski lift. The ride begins at the small lift and follows a predetermined course that is approximately 900 meters long - 400 meters uphill and 500 meters downhill.
Winter at Mehliskopf
And when summer is over at some point and the temperatures drop below freezing, the snowmaking system transforms the area into the longest piste in the northern Black Forest with up to four double-bar tow lifts up to 1.007 m above sea level. On the valley descent in Ski area on the Mehliskopf you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Rhine plain.
Location and arrival
The leisure center is at an altitude of almost 1000 meters and is located directly on the Schwarzwaldhochstrasse. From Karlsruhe The facility can be reached in just under an hour. By car you take the A5 to the Bühl exit and from there it is about 20 minutes via the Bühlertal and the federal highway 500 to Sand to the Mehliskopf. Three different bus lines also connect the leisure center with local public transport.
