Smallest imperial city with “rooster and hen”
Not far from the French border there is a small community with a past steeped in history - the former imperial city of Zell am Harmersbach. It was first mentioned in a document around 1139
belonging to the monastery Gengenbach – and has been through more and less turbulent times ever since.

- the Zeller ceramic manufactory, with a tradition going back more than 200 years, has made the community well-known beyond the borders of the region with its “rooster and hen” motif
- Music and instrument lovers can't help but be amazed at Hans Stadelmann and his "Accordion and Harmonica Museum" - over the years he has collected over 530 different organs, harmonicas, accordions and audio players
The luck of this earth - world-famous Arabian breeding
One might hardly suspect it, but a world-famous Arabian breed is hidden away in Zell am Harmersbach. Arabian horses have been successfully bred on the Friedmann family farm for over 20 years. Every rider's heart beats faster here. What began with her parents is successfully continued by her daughter today and inspires with her four-legged friends at shows and exhibitions all over the world.
