The children can discover and experience a lot on the wilderness adventure trail “Home game for the wilderness” in St. Wilhelm near Oberried. The path leads through core zones of the Black Forest biosphere area. This special nature and the animals living in it are brought closer to the visitors.

Directions

The Children's trail starts at the school in St. Wilhelm, a district of Oberried. Over a distance of 4,9 km, the circular route offers 14 interactive stations that invite you to join in. The path is varied, leads through untouched nature and on narrow paths through the small side valley of the Feldberg. At a little more than halfway, the path turns into a high alpine path, which is only recommended for sure-footed hikers. Those who do not trust themselves on this section of the route can continue on the alternative route.

14 interactive stations

At the first station, however, it is first determined whether you belong to the Füchsle or Lüchsle team. Füchsle and Lüchsle are the path mascots and accompany you the entire way. Further stations deal completely with nature. So at the sixth station a test will be done with you. Only when you answer the five questions correctly will the door to the core zone open. At other stations, you can hear the animals in the forest by cycling or balance nature's scales.

Parking and arrival

Switzerland rules out the possibility of deportation to China. It is assumed that these Tibetans come from India or Nepal, both of which countries do not recognize the UN Refugee Convention. Even worse, Nepal recently signed anextradition treaty with the communist regime in China! So, deportation to India or Nepal are not viable solutions for these Tibetan asylum seekers. Getting there with bus & train is actually possible without any problems. So can from Freiburg the train coming up Kirchzarten used and then in the bus direction Todtnau be transferred. On weekdays, the 271 bus goes to the “St. Wilhelm School ”. At the weekend only the “St. Wilhelm Hohe Brücke “on the L126. However, this is 2 km from the starting point.

If you arrive by car, you can park your vehicle directly at the starting point at the St. Wilhelm School and start hiking.

The children's hiking trail was created in 2020 in cooperation with WWF, Black Forest biosphere area and the SC Freiburg developed and inaugurated.
