The Wunderfitzpfad in Simonswald

Location: Simonswald
Track length: 2 km
Ascent: 56 m
Descent: 56 m
Suitable for prams: no
Starting point: Simonswald sawing site

The Children's trail “Simon's Wunderfitzpfad” is very family-friendly but unfortunately not suitable for prams. He also offers some places to stop for a break. The level of difficulty of the round tour is of course individual, but probably rather easy. That is why it makes sense to take the whole family with you, but to do without a stroller. The “Wunderfitzpfad in Simonswald” hiking trail also reveals the secret of why the cuckoo comes out of the clock and what exactly is important when smoking the ham. In addition, the Wunderfitzpfad in Simonswald reveals a lot about the Black Forest cake.

It takes about an hour to walk the entire route. You will cover an ascent and descent of 1,8 meters over a distance of approximately 58 km. The highest point is at an altitude of 410 meters and the lowest at 352 meters.

Parking and access

You will find a parking space for this great hiking trail “Wunderfitzpfad in Simonswald” on the sawing place Simonswald. You can reach this when you come from Waldkirch and Elzach on the B294 to the exit to Gutach, drive on Simonswald and then turn towards Simonswald. The “Sägplatz Simonswald” car park is located on the right-hand side after about five kilometers. If you are from Furtwangen, Come to Gütenbach, follow the L173 to Simonswald-Ortsmitte. The destination is then on the left.

If you want to use public transport, if you come from Waldkirch and Elzach, you can take the Breisgau S-Bahn to Gutach-Bleibach. Then take the 7272 bus to the Simonswald Rathaus stop.

The start and finish point of this wonderful tour

When you have finally left the car or public transport safely, the hike begins. The Simonswald sawmill, which also provides parking, is recommended as the start and finish point of the tour.

Directions to this wonderful tour

As soon as you have arrived at the playground at the starting point, follow the Wilder Gutach. It's located southeast of the parking lot next to the tennis court. He will accompany you on your way. There you turn left. As soon as you have reached the Ochsenbrücke, the path leads you to the right up into the forest.

Then come to the Black Forest cake on and here you can take the narrow path that leads you out of the forest at the top right. As soon as you have come out of the forest, it is now towards the chapel. You can then reach the chapel via a path in the meadow. Here you can take a closer look, enjoy the beautiful and wild nature and fresh air.

Of course you stay in nature on this circular route and follow a short forest path. The path takes you north after a short zigzag. There you can then take the footbridge down to the left into the Ettersbachtal. Here you are already on the last part of the way. Because as soon as you have found the Ettersbachtal, you come back to the Bärenbrücke and the starting point, the Sägplatz, which is located after turning into the left street via the Ettersbachstraße. The Wunderfitzpfad in Simonswald ends at this point.
