From wild cats to high moor experiences: 5 special hiking trails in the Black Forest

Wildcat Forest Experience
The first tour is not particularly long at 6 kilometers, but it is really exciting. The Wildcat forest adventure trail near Bad Herrenalb leads through an ancient mixed forest with wonderful vantage points where you can enjoy the view of the Gaistal. The special highlight is the amount of information about wild cats, and if you're lucky, you might even see one or the other wild cat that lives here in the dense mixed forest. After the hike, you can still see the Frauenalb monastery ruins, the amber rocks, the Look at the old water tower or the Teufelsmühle.
Kaiserstuhl path
The Kaiserstuhl path has been awarded the seal of quality hiking in Germany. The approximately 22-kilometer route takes you along natural paths through the wonderful landscape of the Kaiserstuhl with vineyards, loess hollow alleys and nature reserves. Viewpoints such as the Katharinenberg allow views of the Black Forest and the Vosges. After the long hike you can Rebenbummler, the museum train at the Kaiserstuhl, rest your feet.
Schwarzenbach dam
The Schwarzenbach dam in the northern Black Forest invites you to go swimming, fishing, surfing and boating. Around the popular reservoir there is an approximately 14,5 kilometer long hiking trail, which leads along the water in the north and through the forest in the south. Display boards on the hiking trail provide information about the construction of the dam, which 200 people, including many Italians, helped to build.
Belchensteig gourmet trail
On the fourth highest mountain in the Black Forest, the Belchen, the Belchensteig gourmet trail awaits hikers who would like to stop off along the way. Four restaurants offer regional specialties and wines along the 14,3 kilometer route. The path leads through historic Black Forest farms, fragrant mountain forests, meadows and heathland. Kaltenbronn raised bog
