When you visit the nature adventure trail, you and your family will experience nature with all your senses. The entire path is 4 km long. You should plan around two hours to visit the path.

There are lots of great things to discover on the trail. There is a tree memory, a tree telephone, a Kneipp pedal system, a willow tunnel, a course for barefoot runners and an obstacle course.

These experiences, which are not only interesting and exciting for children, can be found on the first part, which is 1,5 kilometers long. In the second part there are traces of the male wood elf. There are great vantage points where you can watch the ski jumpers on the Adlerschanze, for example.

At the end of the nature trail there is a wonderful little pond, which is ideal for taking a break and observing the animals.

Is the Hinterzarten nature adventure trail suitable for prams?

The first 1,5 kilometers with all the adventure stations can be traveled with a stroller. On the second part of the adventure trail, it is difficult to take a stroller, as it runs on narrow trails.

The perfect way to end a visit to the adventure trail?

There is the Hinterzarten ice cream parlor near the start or finish point. A delicious ice cream after a great little hike is the perfect way to end it or a great break, because Hinterzarten has even more to offer.

Can the trip get any better?

It may not make the outing any better, but it can make the outing more interesting in points. At the tourist information office there are GPS devices, backpacks for children or a backpack for researchers to borrow. For renting the rucksack there is a € 5 fee and a € 50 deposit. The children will find the following in the backpack: a magnifying glass, binoculars, a landing net, a compass, a treasure bag, a flashlight and a naturalist book.

How to get to the Hinterzarten nature experience path:

If you want to use local public transport, then go to Freiburg or to Donaueschingen. From Freiburg it continues with the S11 Neustadt (Schwarzw.). From Donaueschingen you continue with the S10 in the direction of Breisach (Schwarzw.). If you arrive with the S10 or S11, you have to get off at the Hinterzarten train station.

If you arrive by car, take the B 31. At the exit B 500, choose the direction: Triberg, Furtwangen, St. Märgen, Breitnau, Hinterzarten.

Where can you park?

There are many parking options in Hinterzarten. Some of these parking options are chargeable. The easiest way is to use the parking lot at the train station.
