Target-oriented signposting using main signposts with destination and kilometer information forms the basic structure of the signage. The main signposts (also information signs) are set up at the intersections of the route network where a decision-making situation exists. So usually where routes cross or unite. They have the size of 28 x 28 cm, are in the signal colors yellow and blue and provided with the signet of the nature park as well as the MTB pictogram. On the main signposts there are local and long-distance destinations with distance information, the MTB pictogram, direction arrows (also recognizable from a great distance) and route pictograms (index, level of difficulty, etc.).
Wherever the mountain bike route changes without crossing important connections, intermediate signposts are used. They have a size of 15 x 15 cm, blue text on a yellow background, and contain the MTB pictogram, direction arrows and the route pictogram. This provides the mountain biker with information as to whether they have to drive right, left or straight ahead, what level of difficulty the section of the route is and what route they are on. In addition, the intermediate signposts serve to confirm that you are still on the right route for longer routes without crossing points. There are also so-called special signposts which, for example, point out certain special or dangerous situations.
