Bringing children closer to nature in a playful way and having a great time as a family, the Ottenhöfen - LEPO agricultural adventure trail is perfect for this. Interactive learning and several subject areas provide information about agricultural change and traditional agricultural use in the region over the centuries. Education, nature and culture, all combined in one exciting day trip destination for the whole family.

What can the children experience?

The structure of the Agricultural Adventure Path Ottenhöfen - LEPO is deliberately tailored to the needs of children. There are several marble runs along the way and two resting places for playing and picnicking are integrated into the circular route. Inquisitive children and interested adults receive additional interactive teaching materials on request, which will help you to further research the topics of the circular route. This includes puzzles and comics, all about the little Lepo, who guides visitors through his region and inspires and informs in a funny, child-like way.

The excursion is ideal for families with children between the ages of 8 and 12. But it can also be a lot of fun with smaller children, because there are both playgrounds and the opportunity to watch the forest animals. Small children can easily be carried on their backs when using sturdy shoes. Off-road prams can also be used on the path. If necessary, the tourist information office lends out buggies and backpack carriers. Researcher backpacks can also be borrowed for children.
As a result, the circular route is in principle suitable for all age groups, as a whole route or as a half.

Where does the Ottenhöfen Agricultural Experience Trail - LEPO begin?

The adventure path begins in the center of Ottenhöfen, more precisely in the spa gardens. It is a circular route that ends again in Ottenhöfen. The total distance is 8 km with an average hiking time of 3,5 hours.

Can the route also be shortened?

However, the adventure path in Ottenhöfen can also be shortened. About in the middle of the hiking trail there is the possibility to take the train back from Furschenbach to Ottenhöfen. This is a good option, especially with young children or those with physical limitations. At the starting point there is also a kiosk that takes care of the physical well-being of large and small visitors.

How do we reach the path of experience?

The Ottenhöfen - LEPO Agricultural Adventure Path can be easily reached by car and train. Take the train from Achern to Ottenhöfen and start your excursion there in the center of the village. The ride on the roller coaster takes around 15 minutes.
At Getting there by car, take the A5 motorway (direction Karlsruhe-Basel) take the Achern exit and then drive towards Black Forest High Road, directly to Ottenhöfen. If you are coming from the east, your route will take you over Freudenstadt, Ruhestein, Black Forest High Road and Seebach directly to Ottenhöfen. Free parking spaces can be found near the Agricultural Adventure Path Ottenhöfen - LEPO at the train station and the spa gardens.
