What can the children experience?

The forest adventure path is a total of 3,5 km long and invites young and old visitors with 15 stations on an entertaining journey through the forest as a living space. On the way, the children can discover the foldable stake figures, which hide exciting insights on all topics related to the forest. The little hikers learn a lot about topics such as the function of the forest and the animals that are at home there. It is not just about information but also about active experience.

The barefoot path delights visitors of all ages and the quarry, fairytale house and animal long jump ensure that this little forest safari is guaranteed never to be boring.

If you still have the desire and energy for more hikes after the path, you can also follow the connected time path and planet path. All three paths together result in a circular route, which is a particularly nice option for families with slightly older children. If you visit the adventure trail between May and September, you can experience another highlight with the right timing. Because during this time the apiary is looked after every Sunday morning and can be discovered.

Where does the path begin?

Centrally located between the Black Forest, Alsace / France and Switzerland, the small town of Kandern is easy to reach from all of the areas mentioned. The starting point of the trail itself is right next to the August Macke School in Kandern. There is also a barbecue area there to strengthen yourself together before the hike and to have a good time. At How to get there by car, can on the “Red Rain” forest car park be parked. Incidentally, this can also be selected directly as an alternative starting point for the hikes.

Is the Kandern forest adventure trail suitable for prams?

The average hiking time for the Kandern Forest Adventure Trail is a little over an hour, but can be shortened in two places. Thanks to a slight ascent and ascent, the Kandern forest adventure trail can also be used with a stroller without any problems. The entire path is a gravel path and can be used with conventional prams or buggies. It is therefore also suitable for families with very young children.
