As early as the Middle Ages, miners used simple tools like hammers and chisels to create the first tunnels, extracting valuable silver and lead. In the 20th century, the focus shifted to the mining of fluorspar (fluorite) before the mine was closed in 1958.
Since 1970, you can explore this technical monument as a visitor mine. On the approximately 580-meter-long, well-lit, and level circular walkway, you can marvel at enormous mining cavities, historic machinery, and a dizzying, 180-meter-deep blind shaft.
