The Todtnau waterfall lies between Todtnau and Aftersteg. Here the Stübenwasenbach, which rises at 1386m, falls over two granite steps into the Wiesental. The waterfall in Todtnau has been a natural monument since June 1987 and is one of the most beautiful of its kind in all of Germany. From the parking lot, which is located on the outskirts of Aftersteg, the waterfall can be reached via a comfortable footpath within about 15 minutes. to reach.

The waterfall is impressive from below as well as from above. A number of footpaths lead up and down on both sides of the fall, which is a particularly good way of exploring and marveling at it.

The waterfall is particularly worth seeing in spring during the thawing of the snow, where the Stübenbach carries most of the water and shoots spectacularly into the depths.

Start your exploration on the Todtnau market square. A beautiful hiking trail through beech forests to the waterfall starts below the church. After about 1 hour you are back on the market square and end the day with an ice cream.

How do I get to the Todtnauer waterfall? The directions

Either from Freiburg Coming there is the parking lot in front of Aftersteg, from here it is about 15 minutes. Walking time. Alternatively, you can also drive towards Todtnauberg, so the upper part of the waterfall is reached, there is also a large parking lot in front of the site.
