The Southern Black Forest Nature Conservation Center

Since 2001, the most modern nature conservation center in the state of Baden-Württemberg has been located at the foot of the Feldberg in the Black Forest in the Haus der Natur Südschwarzwald.

The nature reserve Feldberg is not only the oldest and largest nature reserve in the country, it is also one of the most popular excursion destinations in the region. The nature conservation center offers many opportunities to experience and get to know the diverse natural and cultural landscape around the highest mountain in the state of Baden-Württemberg.

?? An attractive range of different events is one of the great strengths of the nature conservation center ?? so can Dr. Stefan Büchner, head of the center, can confidently look at a rich program of events. For example, hiking with the Feldberg ranger has long been popular. He reports on the interaction between nature conservation and nature use on the Feldberg and introduces visitors to the various areas of his daily work as a full-time nature conservation warden in an entertaining way. He shows you the most beautiful corners of this impressive, unspoilt landscape.

As part of the children's program, children can also use ?? rangers ?? become: For the acquisition of the? Junior Ranger Badge? Children between eight and twelve years of age volunteer for a whole day under expert guidance for nature conservation on the Feldberg and receive a certificate and a patch in recognition of this.

Others discover in an action called ?? Various seminars, e.g. B. on medicinal plants, the production of the famous Black Forest ham or astronomy as well as lecture evenings always set new focuses and enable the participants to deal with the topic in detail.

The Southern Black Forest Nature Conservation Center is open daily during the holiday periods, otherwise from Tuesday to Sunday between 10.00 a.m. and 17.00 p.m. Admission to the permanent exhibition costs 2 euros for adults and 1 euros for concessions, families pay a maximum of 5 euros.
