A cultural monument from the early 18th century. - Oil mill and trot.
The house, built in the style of a pagan house, stands as if on an island, framed by the Wild Gutach and the mill canal.
About 20 minutes walk from the center of Simonswald. The oil mill, which is driven by an undershot water wheel, consists of a rapeseed mill, a grating stone, an oil oven and a pressing device, the torckel tree. Fruits produced in the valley were oiled, especially rapeseed, poppy seeds, walnuts and beech kernels.
The trot had almost the same meaning as the oils.
Opening times from Easter to All Saints' Day:
Oil mill Thursday and Saturday from 10.00 a.m. to 15.00 p.m.
