The "Murgleiter" is runningn times lengthways through the northern Black Forest. With a total length of 110 kilometers, the eventful hiking trail has developed into a full-blown long-distance hiking trail. Its five stages add up to a climb of around 3.805 meters. The starting point is the Unimog Museum in Gaggenau, continue with the Merkur, the local mountain of Baden-Baden, to the papermaking town Gernbach, past Weisenbach and through the historic half-timbered town Forbach until after Baiersbronn up to the 1.055 m high Grinding head.

The paths meander along the river through the contrasting valley of the Murg. On the way, the hiker passes a wide variety of habitats and cultural landscapes: from deciduous forests to dense coniferous forests, across accurate vineyards and lovely orchards, fantastic mountain slopes, dreamy hayloft valleys and wide meadows. On the way he encounters some bizarre rock formations, mystical gorges, quiet moors and glacial cirque lakes, as well as the fascinating nature of the Black Forest National Park with its crags. Hiking along the Murgleiter means five days of pure hiking pleasure!
