The novel is set on an idyllic farm in Black Forest on two time levelsThe story spans the present day and the 1940s. For the flashbacks, I interviewed eyewitnesses and conducted thorough online research. As a result, the fictional novel incorporates numerous true events. The present day is also well represented, including various expressions from youth slang and technological advancements like selfies and BeReal, which the granddaughter uses to constantly amaze her grandmother. Thus, despite its depth, the story also features humor, and of course, there's plenty of animal activity on the farm.
