The Hayberg Tower is an enchanting observation tower that rises proudly on the Heuberg near Ettenheim. With an impressive height of 9 meters and a total height of 12,5 meters from ground level to the top of the observation deck, it is impossible to miss.

history of the tower

Built in 1969 by the Black Forest Association, it was completely renovated in 1997 and adapted to safety regulations in 2010 and 2011. Today the tower stands as a symbol of the changing times and offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape.

Since 2011, boards with 151 individual photos have been attached to the viewing platform 360 degree panoramic view explain. From here you can see the foothills, the Black Forest with Kandel, Schauinsland, until Ballon and look at the Kaiserstuhl. If the weather is good, you can even see the enthroned Haut-Koenigsbourg in the Vosges and the tower of the Strasbourg Cathedral, which faces exactly north.
