The Sankt Wilhelmer Hütte, also popularly known as the Wilmerhütte, is a jewel on the Feldberg, the highest peak in Baden-Württemberg. At a height of 1423 meters, it is the highest alpine hut in Baden-Württemberg.

The hut has a rich history that dates back to 1819, when it was built by the St. Wilhelm and Todtnauberg farmers for the then Herder. The herder, a job title for those who look after the alpine huts in the Black Forest, used to have a shepherd at his side who was responsible for the cattle. Today the herder is solely responsible for managing the hut and caring for the animals.

The Sankt Wilhelmer Hütte offers a rustic atmosphere with 65 seats indoors and a sunny outdoor terrace. It is known for its hearty food and rustic restaurant. However, overnight stays are not possible.

The Sankt Wilhelmer Hütte is a popular destination for hikers. It serves as a stopover for numerous hikes in the Feldberg area, such as from Notschrei over the Stübenwasen.

Overall, the Sankt Wilhelmer Hütte is a fascinating place that combines history, culture and nature. It offers locals and visitors alike a place of peace and relaxation away from the hustle and bustle, with a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains and valleys of the Black Forest.
