What is the Schlühüwanapfad Grafenhausen?

The Schlühüwanapfad Grafenhausen nature adventure trail is located in the middle of the idyllic Schlüchtsee and the Rothaus brewery. This 2,6 kilometer long circular route leads past various beautiful sculptures and stations where children in particular can explore nature in a curious manner. The sculptures here were created from the tree remains of Hurricane Lothar in 1999 by the carver Herbert Hofmeier.

At the entrance to the hiking trail, visitors are greeted by a snake and funny gnomes. Right at the beginning, children in particular can feel the landscape with their feet on the barefoot path and then let the forest xylophone sound. The visitors pass many other stations here where they can explore the nature of the Black Forest.

At the junction, a wooden squirrel points the way to the next sections, which test children's senses and dexterity. In the animal jumping pit, the jumping power can be compared to that of the animal inhabitants of the forest. After the interesting showdown, the tree telephone awaits the visitors. You can hear here who is on the other end of this line. From here on, especially the families have to go on rather quietly, because the path leads directly into the forest here, so that with luck they can see the reverent inhabitants and also observe them. The hiking tour can be extended around the Schlüchtsee. On this way, visitors will also find the "Water" station and it quickly becomes a tingling pleasure. Then stop by the insect hotel and see who lives here. Finally, they can listen to the voices of the animals in the place of silence before heading back to the exit.

The Schluchtsee on the way

At the end of the Schlüchtsee, hikers come to the Schlüchtseehof and follow the Schlücht, the promenade path and forest nature trail, to the Schlüchtseehof Grafenhausen. There, visitors cross the town hall square and Schaffhauser Straße and marvel at the sculptures in the beautiful spa park, turn left into Mühlenweg and then walk along the promenade path along beautiful willow areas and the small forest down to the Tannenmühlenweg, which they take to the Get to Gasthof Tannenmühle.

Visitors can also take a longer break here, as there is a lot to discover here. This also includes the beautiful mill museum and the large mill wheel that is still turning. There are also many animals waiting for me to feed and lots of petting from the visitors and the water playground is really fun, especially in warm weather. The ride-on excavators and the tractors are often manned, but with patience, visitors can dig and have fun here.

Mythical creatures and fairy tale characters on the adventure trail

Families venture into the interesting world full of mythical creatures and fairy tale characters on the Schlühüwana nature trail in Grafenhausen. Along the path, children and parents in particular learn a lot about the flora and fauna of the Black Forest in a playful way. They are also encouraged to try things out and participate.

The children and parents begin the approximately 1,7 kilometer long circular route at the entrance to the “Hüsli” local history museum in the beautiful town of Grafenhausen. From here you hike along natural paths into the nature reserve all the way to Schlüchtsee. From here Families hike with their children continue to the Hüsli and back to the exit.

On the way to the side of the Schlühüwana path, families also pass a barefoot path and try a forest xylophone. At the amusing animal long jump pit, visitors with children can measure the arts with those of the forest animals. The children find a cave tree here and walk along the famous Prisch path. This and more can be found here for families to discover and explore.
