Book presentation: At the Christkind on the Feldberg Christmas with Miss Fanny

At Mathis, in the last hut in the village far below the Feldberg, only a few apples and a piece of gingerbread remind us that it's Christmas. In the elegant »Feldberger Hof« at Fräulein Fanny's, however, the Christ Child brings presents, and everyone stands in festive clothes around the brightly shining Christmas tree and singing Christmas carols. Ever since one of his brothers, who is a waiter there, told him about it and told him about a shepherd boy at the manger who was exactly like Mathis, he only had one wish: he would like to see Miss Fanny's on Christmas Eve Feldberg be on top.

But it starts to snow at the beginning of December. How is he supposed to make it through the meter-high snow to the highest mountain in the country? Then Mathis secretly fetches two of those newfangled snowshoes from the barn, on which the older brothers love to zoom down the slope. An adventure through snow and icy winter wind in the approaching darkness begins ...

Based on a story by Hermine Villinger, Heidi Knoblich retells this Christmas adventure from the time of the invention of skiing. Equipped with loving drawings by the illustrator of the "Christmas Mouse".
