Summer toboggan runs in the Black Forest - where can you experience action?

With numerous sights, recreational opportunities and activities, the Black Forest is an ideal travel destination for tourists. In winter there are more than 27 ski lifts, which means that skiers will find plenty of downhill slopes of various difficulty levels.

In summer, the Black Forest is perfect for hiking in the great outdoors. For action-packed days, there are several summer toboggan runs that are worth a visit due to their special characteristics.

Gutach summer toboggan run

The summer toboggan run opened in 2006 directly at the resort offers visitors an extraordinary experience. Guests toboggan down the mountain from 1.190 meters after first being brought to the mountain station by the lifter system. The fast descent is very varied with roundabouts, jumps and tunnels and is therefore ideal fun for the whole family.

After tobogganing, older visitors can enjoy a tasty snack and a refreshing drink or hot drink in the spacious beer garden. For smaller guests a playground provided, which offers plenty of space to romp around with swings, a slide, a sandpit and a trampoline.

Interested parties can visit the summer toboggan park during opening hours and buy tickets for the Wiegand Alpine Coaster there, buy vouchers in advance on the website or book a children's birthday package.

Seewald Amusement Park Enzklösterle-Poppeltal

The longest slide in southern Germany is located in the northern Black Forest, 35 kilometers south of Pforzheim. With a total length of 1500 meters, the toboggan run offers lots of fun. First, visitors are taken to the lofty heights for about four minutes by drag lift.

From there, the unique Black Forest panorama can be enjoyed before heading rapidly down the valley in steep curves and other subtleties. The speed can be adjusted according to taste using levers on the toboggan.

In addition to the summer toboggan run, which is well worth seeing, visitors can relax in the beer garden or experience many other attractions. Well-known equipment such as bumper cars, chain carousel and trampolines are offered as well as the extraordinary children's railway, fun rodeo riding and an adventurous pirate boat. On hot days, the water pump train is ideal for cooling off a bit.

The amusement park offers single tickets and discounted group prices. The park can be visited without registering specified opening times.

Hasenhorn summer toboggan run in Todtnau

The Hasenhorn Coaster in Todtnau is considered the most spectacular toboggan run in all of Germany. Visitors are transported down to the valley in sleighs on 2,9 kilometer long tracks. Among other things, the paths have funny waves, several roundabouts and steep curves for particularly fast driving fun. You can easily determine the speed yourself at any time.

Guests are transported to the starting point with a state-of-the-art double chairlift. Tobogganing is allowed from a height of 95 cm and from the age of three years. From the age of 8 and with a minimum height of 1,40 cm, courageous visitors can dash down the mountain alone.

This is located directly at the mountain station rustic mountain inn with sun terrace. Guests can stop here to dine excellently in a hut atmosphere or to celebrate extensively. 70 seats and 16 beds are available in the Gasthaus Hasenhorn.

Furthermore, guests can hike a good three kilometers from the Hasenhorn mountain station to Todtnau in order to discover the enchanting locations of the fairy tale "Magic Path".

A visit to the Todtnauer Hasenhorn Tower is a good idea if guests want to experience something after tobogganing. The observation tower with a height of 20 meters is about a 21-minute walk away. Surrounding peaks, Feldberg, Ballon, Schauinsland and many more are spotted. When the weather is clear, even the distant Alps with Mönch, Eiger and Jungfrau can be seen.


On warmer days in the Black Forest, not only hikes through the unique landscape or visits to the sights are possible. Guests who are looking for action will also find plenty of entertainment in the low mountain range with summer or year-round toboggan runs.
