The Eibenwald adventure trail is located directly on the so-called Eibenkopf. The Eibenkopf is a nature reserve in the town of Waldshut. The Eibenwald adventure trail is designed to whet the whole family's appetite for nature and fresh forest air.

The Hiking trail for children invites you to discover and offers a total of twelve stations. These provide all sorts of information about the forest ecosystem. It provides answers to many questions, for example about the cycle of life, forestry or tree species. The information is not just presented on boards. Rather, it is also about discovering, touching and experiencing things for yourself.

Directions

If you are busy with the stations on the approx. 1,7 km hiking trail, you will need about 1 to 1,5 hours for the entire route. You will be guided through the adventure trail at all times by existing signs. Eibi, the mascot of the Eibenwald adventure trail, is always there.

From the car park you go straight through the entrance portal onto the adventure trail. From here you keep following the Eibi signposts. Shortly after the entrance you can still see young trees that are managed by the forester. After turning left, you come to the first real hands-on station. Here you can practice estimating the length of the tree.

Then it goes around to the right. The next station shows what we use wood for in everyday life. Then turn left twice and right again. Here you reach the so-called Eibenkopf. Here you can linger briefly and recharge your batteries before continuing to the left. The station behind the curve shows how to determine the age of the trees. There is also a telescope here that can be used to observe wild animals. Further to the right and then left again is an impressive large but sadly dead beech tree. From here the last signpost points in the direction of the exit.

The adventure trail can be directly combined with a visit to the game reserve. This offers further possibilities for the whole family.

Arrival to the forest adventure trail
