My saving tip 💸
Book online and save the surcharge at the box office!
Save €10 per ticket now!

Waiting times vary considerably depending on the attraction. Particularly popular attractions, and therefore associated with longer waiting times, are:

Trick 1: Buy your ticket online and skip the ticket line.

The first queue of the day isn't for a roller coaster, but at the ticket office. Especially on weekends and during holidays, a long line forms there even before the doors open. With an online ticket, you can simply bypass the queue and go straight to the entrance.

This saves not only time but also money: At the ticket office, you pay a €10 surcharge per person on top of the online price. For a family of four, that's €40, which you'd be better off spending on churros and drinks. The exact price depends on the day of your visit and will be displayed in the ticket shop immediately after you select the date.

Even more important than the savings: Europa-Park operates on a daily quota. On popular days, the park sells out, and you won't be able to get a ticket at the ticket office. Booking online guarantees entry.

Here's how to get even more out of it:

  • Store ticket in the app: Add your digital ticket to the Europa-Park & Rulantica app at home. Then you can register for the VirtualLine immediately in the park (more on this in Tip 6).
  • Book your parking ticket at the same time: You can also buy your parking ticket online in advance. This way you can avoid queuing at the pay stations.
  • Date vouchers in advance: If you have an undated ticket, such as a voucher or a gift, you must convert it to your desired date online before your visit.
  • Infants: Children up to and including 3 years of age do not need a ticket.

Trick 2: The best days to visit

Contrary to popular belief, Wednesday is not the busiest day at Europa-Park. In fact, this is a myth, as data analysis proves. According to evaluations by the portal "coaster.cloud," Wednesday was actually the second quietest day at the park in 2025, with average waiting times of only about 10 minutes.

The quietest days are usually:

  • Fridays (fewest visitors)
  • Wednesdays (second fewest visitors)

On weekends, however, you should expect longer waiting times – an average of about 15 minutes per attraction. If you still want to come on the weekend, choose Sunday rather than Saturday, especially in May.

Tip 3: Optimal times of day for short waiting times at Europa-Park

Waiting times at Europa-Park vary considerably throughout the day. With some careful planning, you can save up to two hours of waiting time. Here are the best times for some of the most popular attractions:

  • Silver Star: Shortest waiting times before 10am, between 13pm and 14pm and shortly before park closing
  • Fjord Rafting: Shortest waiting times before 11 a.m. and after 17 p.m.
  • Eurosat CanCan Coaster: Shortest waiting time between 17-18 pm
  • Wodan: Shortest waiting time also between 17-18 pm
  • Blue Fire: Shortest waiting time between 10-11 pm
  • Arthur: Shortest waiting time between 17-18 pm

A special tip: Use the lunchtime period between 12 and 14 pm to enjoy the attractions while other visitors are taking a break. Waiting times are often significantly shorter during this time.

Trick 4: Strategic Park Planning

A well-planned route through the park can save a lot of time. Since Europa-Park only has one main entrance, it's recommended to head straight to the back areas of the park after entering, for example to Island with the popular roller coasters Blue Fire and Wodan.

Here is an optimal process:

  1. Arrive early: The park opens at 9 a.m. during the summer season – it's best to be at the entrance 20-30 minutes beforehand.
  2. Go directly to the Attractions in the back of the park Go, for example with the EP-Express
  3. Use lunchtime for popular attractions
  4. Return to the front areas towards the end of the day

Trick 5: Hotel guests can get to the park earlier

Guests staying at one of the Europa-Park hotels get a real head start in the morning. During the summer season, you can enter the park via your own hotel entrance from 8:15 a.m., a full 45 minutes before everyone else. In the winter season and during HALLOWinter, access begins at 10:00 a.m., one hour before the regular opening time.

During this time, selected attractions operate exclusively for hotel guests, such as Blue Fire, Pirates in Batavia , the Tyrolean whitewater rapids, and the Alpenexpress "Enzian." WODAN starts at 8:30 a.m. Our tip: Hike through the Netherlands to Croatia during the early opening hours. Then you'll be one of the first at Voltron Nevera at 9:00 a.m.

This also applies on the day of arrival. The Rulantica water park also opens earlier for hotel guests, at 9:00 a.m. However, please note: individual activities may be cancelled due to bad weather or technical problems.

Good to know: Early entry is only for guests of the six hotels owned by the park. Overnight stays there are correspondingly expensive.

If you'd prefer to save money, you can find affordable accommodations like guesthouses and holiday apartments around Europa-Park . Many are located in Rust, just a short walk from the entrance. This way, you can still arrive before 9 a.m. and avoid traffic jams and the search for parking in the morning.

Trick 6: Use VirtualLine

Europa-Park offers a free VirtualLine system for selected attractions. Using the Europa-Park app, you can reserve time slots for up to 10 people for the following attractions:

  • Voltron
  • Wodan
  • Blue Fire
  • Euro-Mir
  • Poseidon
  • Pirates in Batavia
  • Voletarium

Spaces are limited and often sell out quickly. You can only make a reservation once you're in the open park – so it's best to do so right after entering. Each ticket only allows you to virtually queue for one attraction at a time.

Trick 7: Single Rider

If you don't mind traveling separately from your group, use the single-rider entrance. This allows them to fill individual empty seats on the trains that would otherwise remain empty. Therefore, the wait time there is often significantly shorter than in the regular queue. At Voltron, for example, staff count the seats in each row and direct single riders to the available seats.

You can tell if an attraction currently has a single-rider entrance by the signage at the entrance. This is especially convenient for teenagers and adults who plan to ride multiple times anyway.

Consider seasonal differences

Visitor numbers, and therefore waiting times, vary considerably depending on the season. It is particularly crowded during peak season, especially during school holidays. Please note that school holiday periods differ in Germany, France, and Switzerland. If possible, plan your visit outside of these times.

During the off-season, you'll not only benefit from shorter waiting times, but also from lower admission prices in the Europa-Park online ticket shop. We've written a separate article about tickets and prices at Europa-Park .

Especially in winter, a visit to the park can be easily combined with the Rulantica water world ; fast slides, relaxing saunas and a huge pool are ideal for an extra day at Europa-Park Resort.
