Five years ago, an idea was born in the Black Forest, which has slowly grown into something much bigger. We, the Bomlins team, wanted to find out just how good a towel could be if you took your time, experimented with different materials, and focused not on the fastest, but on finding the best solution. This question led to over two years of development, numerous discussions with experts from Egypt, Portugal, and Germany, and countless samples. Three years ago, we launched our first products, and the exceptionally positive feedback showed us that every single step was worthwhile. Since then, Bomlins has continued to grow while remaining firmly rooted in the Black Forest. All products are tested, packaged, and shipped from here.
How it all began
It all started with the observation that many towels look nice but quickly lose quality with use. Colors fade, fibers break, and the surface becomes stiff. At the same time, we noticed that while the labels state the country of manufacture, they rarely mention the actual origin of the cotton. Yet, this is precisely what determines the true quality of a textile.
After extensive research, we discovered Egyptian GIZA cotton. It is among the best cotton varieties in the world. Its fibers are longer, finer, and stronger than those of many other cotton types. In Egypt, it is traditionally harvested by hand, ensuring that only ripe cotton bolls are processed. This exceptional quality is immediately noticeable. The towels remain soft, absorb water reliably, and last for many years.
It took time to obtain genuine GIZA cotton, as it represents only a very small portion of the global market. With the help of the Egyptian embassy, several factory visits, and direct contact with experts, we were finally able to ensure that we received and used only authentic GIZA cotton.
The path from fiber to finished product
The cotton is harvested and processed in Egypt before being turned into yarn in Portugal and later into finished towels, bath towels, sauna towels and bathrobes. You can find out more about Bomlins and their high-quality luxury towels and bathrobes at bomlins.deThen our part begins here in the Black Forest. Every product is unpacked, checked, carefully packaged, and only then shipped in a climate-neutral and plastic-free manner.
This clear and transparent structure allows us to meet our high standards. We want to produce textiles that aren't meant for just one season, but for many years. That's why we've been testing our products ourselves for years, washing, comparing, and refining each sample multiple times.
Quality you can see and feel
For Bomlins, it goes without saying that all products are certified according to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class 1. This is the strictest category and demonstrates that the textiles are even suitable for babies. The combination of hand-picked Egyptian GIZA cotton, high-quality European production conditions, and final inspection in the Black Forest ensures that every product has a consistent quality. It is soft, durable, and gentle on the skin.
In everyday life, this means simple things. A towel should reliably absorb water. It should remain soft and lint-free even after many washes. It should be durable enough that it doesn't need to be replaced after a short time. That's exactly what we strive to achieve in every product.
Why the Black Forest is so important to us
For Bomlins, the Black Forest is not just a location, but a part of their history. The idea originated here. Our warehouse and quality control are located here. The region stands for clarity, tranquility, and traditional craftsmanship. This blend perfectly reflects our way of working. No fleeting trends, no large-scale production, but a small family business that takes charge of its products and knows exactly what it's shipping.
How it goes on
Our product range is growing slowly but deliberately. In addition to our sauna towels and bath towels, we are developing hooded bathrobes and other products for the bathroom and wellness area. Everything remains true to our original principles: good materials, honest manufacturing, transparent origin, and textiles that people enjoy using.
Over 560 reviews with an average rating of 4,9 out of 5 stars already show that the young family business impresses with its products.
